Owning a business is almost the same as gambling. You’ll never really know if your product will be the next big thing or the world’s biggest flop. Fortunately, there are a lot of ways that you can do to drive more profit into your pockets. However, you have to start small before you can bet on a bigger risk. So here are three tips for doing just that:
Point-of-sale Displays
POS (point-of-sale) marketing is a subtle and ingenious strategy that any retail store can adopt. A grocery POS, for example, involves those tiny products placed near the counter (point-of-sale) of a grocery store. It could be batteries, toothbrushes, chocolates, or anything that the customers want to purchase on top of what’s already in their carts.
Not only is this strategy subtle, but it can also cost you almost nothing. You can set up a small metal shelf or display by the counter and place small products that you already have in your store.
Therefore, your POS marketing strategy will depend on what you want to sell. Of course, it would be best if you keep it as relevant to your store as possible. However, it could still be as random and low-key as placing a jar of candies near your counter.
Going Online
There are two routes that you can take when setting up your online presence. (1) Set up an online store or (2) online marketing through ads.
For starters, setting up and online store can cost you either a little or a lot. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can set up a simple Facebook page and use it as an online shop. However, according to their terms and conditions, Facebook will charge a selling fee of 5%, with a $0.40 minimum fee.
On the other hand, you can hire someone to create a website for you, or you can build your own. Either way, however, you will still spend between $100 to $500, at the very least. You can opt for a free server, but that probably isn’t enough if you wish to use it as an online store.
Now, either of the two is required if you want to use online marketing to gather more customers. This is because online ads are also links that your customers click on to visit your page.
There is a risk, however, to running online ads. If you’re not well-educated about the ins and outs of online marketing, you might spend a ton of money than you’re prepared for. Therefore, you must take a lot of time to study this method before even attempting to pay for anything.
Affiliate Marketing
Now, if there’s anything better than being able to sell your own products to the world, it’s having someone else sell your products to the world.
Affiliate marketing is basically like having your own sales personnel. It involves having one or more affiliates to advertise your products to their followers, and then you pay them for every successful purchase made through them.
Therefore, it’s wise to choose affiliates that already have a huge follow count for it to be effective. Meanwhile, if you already have a broad audience on your Instagram or Facebook page, then you can maximize your online presence by letting affiliates come to you. Doing so can increase your orders by up to 16%!
Every Little Thing Counts
The three methods mentioned above can drive revenue to your business. Some can bring you more profits than the other, but not for a price. Be that as it may, if there’s one thing that every business owner must bear in mind, it’s that every penny counts.
